Hiatus Kaiyote Announce Tour And Share New Track ‘Breathing Underwater’

Set to release their sophomore album Chose Your Weapon May 4th, the Grammy-nominated four-piece follows their highly-acclaimed debut project Tawk Tomahawk with a journey through the band’s self-created ecosystem of cinematic soundscapes. With their first single “Breathing Underwater” setting the tone of the 18-track odyssey, the overwhelmingly lush compilation overshadows any pre-conceived notions of what you possibly expected. Lead front woman Nai Palm, passionately skats over every track, adding a melodic wave to the oscillating acoustic bass lines. Taking this new framework, Nai Palm along with bandmates Paul Bender (bass), Perrin Moss (drums/percussion), and Simon Mavin (keyboards), transform exquisite pieces of music into a timeless polished project, that pushes the boundaries of their comfort zone.
To coincide with Chose Your Weapon, the Melbourne-based band is set to head out on tour this coming Saturday (May 2) in Providence, RI, before traveling through New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, and closing out in Baltimore on May 31st.
